Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well!
As of January 7th, I have been accepted to do the World Race. (http://www.theworldrace.org) I will say goodbye to life as I have known it and embrace a life of total abandonment. My life will be placed into a backpack and I will join a group of strangers to embark on an 11-month pilgrimage around the world in search of a deeper relationship with God. In just 3 short months I will be traveling to the Philippines, India, Pioneer India/Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Pioneer Southeast Asia, Ukraine, Romania, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya, with Training Camp being from July 24 through August 1.
Some of the ministry opportunities we will have range from children’s outreach, teaching English, hosting and counseling sports camps, church planting, and discipleship, to simply building relationships along the way. I am so excited to be able to enter into life as a missionary for the next year. God has given me a heart for missions, more specifically international missions, and I look forward to following His call.
I will be keeping a blog throughout this wonderful experience and hope to update it at least twice a week, except in countries where it is not advised, or there is no internet access. I trust God will meet my needs to make this a reality, and ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. Prayer is of the utmost importance and highest need and I would love it if you would commit to praying on a daily or weekly basis. I am currently $12,460 away from my goal of $15,000! Adventures In Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 non- profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures In Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult a tax advisor.
I hope to personally raise an additional $2,000 to cover medical expenses, international insurance, and necessary camping/hiking gear.
Also, as my teammates and I plan to do the race while living out of the packs on our backs, most evenings will be spent in a tent on a roll up bed. I mention this because cost of camping/hiking gear will add up quickly and if you think this might be an area you can help me with by donating new or ‘gently used’ gear, I would be very thankful!
